Can't wait to see what happens!

C-SPAN Ask--them to cover the Hearing on Thursday, 16 June:

events@c-span.org

Peace
O8)

Here is my standard letter to the Media:

Dear Sir/Madam:

As you know, on May 1 of this year a document now commonly referred to as “|The Downing Street Memo” was released into the British Press. These minutes of a British cabinet meeting raise serious question about how the administration was handling intelligence related to Iraq and appears to suggest that the Bush Administration had already decided on war when publicly it was claiming that no such decision had been made. Now further documents have been released in the British media which cast even further doubts.

These documents and other documents suggest that the Bush administration was determined to “fix intelligence” around a predetermined policy. Some of these documents make it clear that the administration had no credible plan for dealing with the post-war occupation.

It is most disturbing that there has been a virtual media blackout regarding “The Downing Street Minutes” and other disturbing documents.

Even more disturbing is the absence in the America media of any credible in-depth follow-up discussion or coverage regarding strong, credible and independent evidence that the Bush Administration intentionally mislead the U.S. Congress, the media and the American people.

I do hope you will accept the responsibility to address this issue and provide serious investigative journalism into this matter.

Furthermore, on Thursday June 16, 2005, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee, and other House members will hold a hearing to consider testimony concerning the Downing Street minutes and questions of possible fixing of prewar intelligence. I do hope you will be giving full coverage to these events.

Sincerely,

34. There is some pushback from the media about mass letters....
However, I did sent a letter to CSpan because when I am employed and can afford to then I can buy the DVD from their store. This is a piece of history and we should all support CSpan in televising these events.

By the way 540,000 signatures on Conyers letter so far.

http://www.johnconyers.com

I've started a thread on that if anyone wants to see what John has to say about it.

He's on the verge of becoming a political liability. And Republicans, like the rats they are, are fleeing his sinking ship.

25. Does that mean that the msm might be
losing their readership and viewers? With Bush's numbers tanking that means the media is being ignored even by the middle of the roaders who probably once thought SS was an important issue along with getting rid of the Estate Tax, that Bushco wouldn't lie about how important Iraq was to our war on Terrorism so we Must Attack. When people can figure out on their own how screwed this country is without the benefit of the media, well then, the media hopefully is screwed. Who needs them when they lie and deceive the audience. Iraq is a glaring example of how the gullible citizenry got screwed. Our soldiers are over there paying the price more than anyone. Damn them all!

then he would not have to hold unofficial "forums", with no subpoena powers, and could start holding official "hearings", with all it entails. Since he is still holding the "forums", I somehow doubt that the "thumbs up" is there.

36. I'm with you on that
I have voted for one Republican in my life, in my very first election. The guy campaigned for a local election on a platform of 1st Amendment rights and the necessity of upholding them in American society.

Right after he was elected, he turned around and closed down every adult bookstore in town. Do I care about adult bookstores? No. But he was a liar who campaigned on lies, and went out of office on lies.

20. Hold a prayer session at this meeting and BLOW THEIR MINDS
Edited on Wed Jun-15-05 01:16 PM by EVDebs
Galatians 6: 7-10

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Republicans who are avid Bible readers won't miss the irony of their beloved administration sowing seeds of deception and reaping it's just rewards. Hold a prayer, beseeching the Almighty, using the Freemasonic "Great Architect of the Universe" as did G. Washington, and you can't go wrong !

It's as if someone used the Mason's cry for help "Is there no help for the poor son of the widow of Naphtali" from I Kings 7:14

Well, better start believing in miracles 'cuz the Freemasons are on YOUR SIDE ! Help is on the way.

26. If Only
Democracy Now was on the MSM! That's the only news that is worth watching. Amy Goodman even lets people complete a sentence, even a paragraph. People are sick of the Chris Matthews types that think THEY are the show with all the real info. Matthews had her on not long ago and he made sure he cut her off and left her thoughts hanging and then did his "just answer yes or no" routine. He is rude and arrogant, like so many. People are getting what is happening after so long I suspect.

29. Yes, Conyers did say that
1, or 2, or 3, or 4 Repubs were giving him the thumbs up. But he did start to say that they won't say it in the open, and then backed off and stated how a couple of them backed him in some legislation. I was trying to type as he talked, but I couldn't get all of those details. He implied that the Repubs were under great pressure. Sounds like what going on with the Boulton nomination in the Senate.
