How can the media not investigate the Downing Street Minutes?
Documents that indicate that the President of the United States, colluding with leaders of the British government, lied to the Congress and the American people to "fix" intelligence around the false story of WMD and go the UN just for show and to give Tony Blair "justification" for going along with the conspiracy. These are very serius charges. Nothing has yet been proved, but the media is obligated to investigate such incredible evidence.

Had to invasin gone well, you can bet we would never have heard of the DSM either. In fact, they came out for the British election.

3. Because it involves something the media avoid like the plague
And that is their own shortcomings and complicity in helping rally public opinion to enable Chimpy's illegal invasion.

5. by marginalizing it as 'old news' when something 'new' comes along
the DSM makes two points:

1. intelligence is fixed around policy, and

2. the case for war was thin.

It is point two which will be ignored by the Media. The meaning of 'fixed' may be discussed and 'debated' but point 2 within the context of statements by Richard Clark, Joe Wilson, Hans Blitz, Paul O'Neil, and George Tenet will never be touched by national outlets.

The marketeers will find it bad for bidness.

7. Very good Q&A LIVE NOW on Washington Post online with Michael Smith, DSM
reporter who has written all the stories on the Downing Street Memo for the Times of London.
