Nancy Pelosi asking for Citizen Co-Sponsors
This just in from DCCC,

Co-Sponsor to Demand a Strategy for Success in Iraq
...

Today, I have offered an amendment to the defense budget that will say to the President:

"Within 30 days of the enactment of this legislation, Congress expects an accounting from you as to what the strategy for success is. What are the security and political measures that you are putting forth that can lead us to bring our troops home?"
...

Today, I am asking you to join me in this demand. Please sign on as a citizen co-sponsor to this monumental amendment:

My question: how do you feel about this ? Does she go far enough by merely saying that "Congress expects an accounting from you" ? When has the bush made himself accountable to anyone, for anything ?

...because I am not interested in Bush's "strategy for success in Iraq," nor do I support congressional interest in any such strategy. Congress should be calling for a full withdrawal and an investigation of the circumstances surrounding the run up to invasion, and the war crimes that were committed subsequently.

on edit-- this is tantamount to German legislators demanding to know just how long it will take to exterminate all those jews, and is it going to cost much? The war against Iraq is a crime of aggression-- Congress should demand its end, not an accounting of how Bush intends to continue his crime spree.

4. You are 100%
correct on this. This just buys into the lie and the farce.

3. I signed it
Can't hurt. Does it go far enough? The only thing far enough would be impeachment and trial at the Hague, followed by public hanging.

5. I'll sign! Puts pressure on Bush, if nothing else.
The media responds to that and that helps.
