Fox weighs in on today's "Democratic House Forum."
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,159828,00.html

WASHINGTON — Congress should conduct an official inquiry to determine whether President Bush intentionally misled the nation about the reasons for toppling Saddam Hussein (search), a senior House Democrat suggested Thursday.

Rep. John Conyers (search) and other Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee organized the forum to investigate implications in a British document known as the "Downing Street memo." The memo says the Bush administration believed that war was inevitable and was determined to use intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the ouster of Saddam.

In the opening hours of the forum, witnesses spoke mainly about their views on the decision to go to war and not the memo, which the Bush administration has dismissed.

The Downing Street memo states the "intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy," recounting a July 23, 2002, meeting of Prime Minister Tony Blair and his national security team. The meeting took place just after British officials returned from Washington. U.S. officials and Blair deny the assertion about intelligence and facts being "fixed," a comment that the memo attributes to the chief of British intelligence at the time. "This is simply rehashing old debates that have already been discussed," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Thursday.

8. You can see it in those four paragraphs

Congress should conduct an official inquiry to determine whether President Bush intentionally misled the nation about the reasons for toppling Saddam Hussein, a senior House Democrat suggested Thursday.

True, but misleading. Conyers, several other members of the panel and at least one witness called for such an inquiry.

Rep. John Conyers and other Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee organized the forum to investigate implications in a British document known as the "Downing Street memo." The memo says the Bush administration believed that war was inevitable and was determined to use intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the ouster of Saddam.

Also true, but just as misleading. The memo says a hell of lot more than that. If one didn't know anything and stopped reading here, one would wonder what all the hoopla is about.

In the opening hours of the forum, witnesses spoke mainly about their views on the decision to go to war and not the memo, which the Bush administration has dismissed.

Here, Fox is suggesting that there is no substance to the memo, because the Bushies say so.

This is the only point in the first four paragraphs where one might see a flashing yellow light. However, Fox, true to form, reassures the reader with McClellan's dismissal.

The rest of the article follows a pattern like that. It reminds me of the schoolyard argument, "You say this about my friend, but my friend says something else, so there!"

6. Fox's pretty transparent two-part "neutering" of what happened today:
1). "witnesses spoke mainly about their views on the decision to go to war and not the memo"

2). "which the Bush administration has dismissed"

So God's Little Chosen Prince has squatted behind a tree and issued forth a fatwah dismissing the validity of the memo.

Then, a bunch of those crazy Dems got together in a little room and bitched about the great job he's doing in Iraq.

FAIR AND BALANCED...my ASS.

This is obviously the work of a rogue producer. He will be shipped off to Gitmo and waterboarded within 2 hours. The fool has made his last mistake on the FAUX payroll.

7. Well, they had a photo, but it's from AP...

"June 16: Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., greets former Ambassador Joseph Wilson."

Rule of thumb: if they COMMENT on it, they're scared. If they DON'T, it's the Karl Rove tactic of "ignore it and it will go away."

And remember...NANCY REGAN FELL DOWN TODAY, and Mesereau wants Tom Sneddon to return the "evidence" pix of Jacko's schlong. It's been a BUSY news day, and this was only ONE of the stories. Reporting the news is HARD WORK!

10. I find this "it's already been discussed"
and everybody knows what's in the memo stuff already just damn HILARIOUS.

What they are saying is: The American people knew it was all a ruse because WMD weren't really that important, and Bush had to "make up something" to get his war approved. The American people were scared shitless on a bucketload of lies, but c'mon folks you all know it's lies already and you still voted for him.

Na na nah. Suckers.

Only one problemo, Scotty-just because he got re-elected, selected by whatever means doesn't mean the whole stupid suckered American populace can't bring the mofo down. We love to tear down "heros" especially for lies. We have no one to blame but Bushie. Hell, Americans aren't going to blame themselves.
