Nadler Resolution rebuking Sensenbrenner lost by 19 votes and
37 Democrats did not vote; 47 Repubs did not vote.

We could have won this one.

Sigh.

6. To table means
to take no action. There can be no discussion of the resolution at all. It just falls off the radar.

9. Voting is NOT done yet.
However, everything is going on party lines. We'll lose, but Democrats are tight on this one. No crossovers so far.

11. We couldn't have won this

Final vote was 222-191 with 12 Democrats not voting.

And the vote was to Table the motion but it's effectively dead.

I'm really surprised there's no mention of this anywhere in the press this morning. I just happend to turn C-SPAN on just as they were reading the motion. I was apalled that the Speaker let the House applaud Sensenbrenner's comments!

PS. The vote was strictly on party lines. Neither side had any crossovers.

13. Now how do we front an effort to broadcast this? It's huge!
The Republicans have now "officially" sanctioned one party rule and declared the U.S. a dictatorship of the GOP.

12. Anyone who votes against this should be rebuked.
Come on folks. He either broke the rules or he didn't, it's that easy. If you aren't going to enforce your own rules than why bother having them? Responsibility and accountability, now why would I think those two items should be present in a representative democracy? Sometimes I really hate partisan politics even though I know it is necessary.
