I just read "LMSM, the 'Lying Mainstream Media'" by Robert Parry. He seems to have hit the nail on the head.

When the Bush Administration went to the U.N. to demand that Saddam let the U.N. Weapons Inspectors return, did Saddam let the U.N. Weapons Inspectors return? And, did Bush then kick them out just before the invasion?

On July 14, 2003 did Bush say "we gave him a chance to allow the inspectors in, and he wouldn't let them in. And, therefore, after a reasonable request, we decided to remove him from power" as his justification for war?

If the answers are all "yes"; then isn't this our President lying to us?

Saddam told Bush and the UN he will compromise as long as they promise not to kill his people and he let them in (he knew he didn't have anything). The UN inspectors wanted more time but Bush already had his mind made up and said "fuck Saddam, we're going in" and left with a smile on his face. So they broke their own resolution they made for the UN because Saddam DID compromise. So thus makes the war illegal.
