DENVER - Three people trying to figure out who told them to leave President Bush's town hall meeting three months ago will try to hand-deliver a letter to the White House on Monday demanding answers.

Alex Young, Karen Bauer and Leslie Weise say they also plan to meet with members of Colorado's congressional delegation to push for an investigation about free speech and use of taxpayer money during the town hall meetings, which have been held across the country to push Bush's Social Security privatization plan.

Bauer, Weise and Young were escorted out of Bush's town hall meeting on Social Security at the Wings over the Rockies Museum in Denver on March 21. The three arrived in car with a bumper sticker reading "No more blood for oil" and had worn T-shirts under their clothes that said "Stop the Lies," but did not plan to reveal them at the event.

"We want to know who the person was, who trained him and what the White House's procedure is for these types of events," Young said. "The same thing keeps happening around the country, so there must be some procedure in place."

Keeping an eye on this one...they are suing for the information.

3. This is a nasty little story

Mark my words, if the Denver 3 are ever able to get to the bottom of this, it is going to come out that the Secret Service was using paid contractors to act as "bouncers" for the "undesirables" who could not be allowed in the presence of the Emperor.

The Secret Service alone couldn't provide the completely sanitized environment Bush required for his propaganda launches. So they hired some folks who could. Predictably, when someone complained, they said, "Oh, that wasn't us, that was some other guy who looked like us."

First, he was supposed to be a "volunteer". Then, they didn't know who he was. Next, they knew, but wouldn't tell.

The truth will come out, and it's not going to be pretty.

4. I admire these three and their persistence...the best part is they

received their tickets through Congressman Bob Beauprez's office, causing some embarassment for the repub.

He and fellow repubs Allard and Musgrave have denounced the incident and have said they personally hold town halls with no restrictions and the president should do the same.

My favorite passive agressive quote comes from Boulder district congressman Mark Udall(d)...

Udall added in an interview that the president’s quest for Social Security reform might be faring better if he took questions from opponents.

“He’s very effective on his feet. I think we would be well-served by having different points of view, and he can make a stronger case.
