iraqbodycount doesn't add up
they list somewhere around 25,000 Iraqi civilians killed. But, given that the Pentagon is owning up to around 12,000 Americans wounded, and that we are still daily bombing cities over there, it seems ridiculous that the Iraqi dead can only be twice that.

1. IRaq body count only reports the deaths that are reported in news
articles. On events where one news source reports a different number killed than another, that is where they come up with their minimum and maximum. So, if it isn't reported at all in any news source, it doesn't show up in their numbers.

Iraq averaged 46 deaths a day before the war and 142 after it. That means the civilian count is probably around 90,000, provided that average never changed. I can't say that it did not though.

3. This Morning On McLaughlin
He listed over 100,000 Iraqis dead. There has also been questions, here on DU, as to the accuracy of the American war dead.

4. 100,000 was given months ago. And now, we know, that we must count
those who dies from bombs prior to March 2003.

5. The civilians killed in the first Iraq war
were severely underestimated as well.
