677 Letters to the Editor, The Oregonian (Sunday)

The Oregonian is the largest newspaper in Oregon. The Sunday paper has the largest circulation.

In today's Letters to the Editor section, they post 677 letters received.

"The majority of these are about Iraq and terrorism. Nearly all of the letters oppose US military presence in Iraq. Referring to Bush, Gary L. Hollen of Oregon City wrote, "Harboring the man responsible for the destructionof Iraq and the insane killing of thousands is an assault on the integrity of our nation. Someone in Congress needs to step up and initiate impeachment."

And Lester Hood of NE Portland wrote that "it's time to start setting a time-table for withdrawing from Iraq..."

DU:er's it's happened. At my sister's company, they are openly talking about "Bush the Anti-Christ". At my office, they're wondering when impeachment will start.

I drive for Tri Met and for about a hour yesterday, 4 passenger and I talked about the Memo's and Time to impeach Bush. But you got to remember we live in a very Blue State and Portland is known as Little Beirut(Papa Bush name Portland that).

I was on Portland's Res. Police squad and I used to hate it when that Bush the piece of shit would show up. I just don't understand why these dumb asses even come up here? Oregon and Washington hate them.

5. I used to hate going out in

riot gear, knowing that many of us cops would have liked to be with the protesters. When President Clinton came to town the first time we were so happy that the riots didn't brake out. It was so freaking different. I miss those days. Well we just need to take back our Nation, thats all.

At my office (in Portland) there seems to be a change in attitude lately. My boss is a big Repug, and just recently he told me the "war in Iraq was based on lies" and he's very worried about the government deficit.

What a change just 6 months can make. Another co-worker, who's also a big Repug supporter, came and told me recently they were wrong to vote for Bush". Amazing.

At my sister's company in Tualatin, they're openly calling Bush "The Anti-Christ".

But then again -- we're Blue.

most of the people live on the western part of Oregon which is Blue.
