Delay and Blunt are demaning an apology from Nancy Pelosi
Both took out paid press releases demanding an apology

http://press.arrivenet.com/pol/article.php/656338.html
http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=49097

What Nancy Pelosi said was:

"Each passing day confirms the Iraq War has been a grotesque mistake. We are here today considering a rule for a defense appropriation bill that will provide another 45 billion dollars for that war. In addition to the hundreds of billions already appropriated and the end is not in sight. This money has been spent in Iraq without question by Congress, without accountability from the administration and without success."

If it weren't for the GOP paid press releases, no one would even be aware Pelosi even opened her mouth last week on this issue. She got no press. None.

:wtf:

4. Okay, what say we draft a petition demanding an apology from these
guys, especially DeLay, for corrupting our government, embarrassing us in front of the rest of the world, and taking up valuable assets (like oxygen, food, space) that a worthy human being could be using?

3. This is apparently the only card the Repukes have left.
Anytime any Democrat cares to speak the truth, IMMEDIATELY and VOCALLY smash them down by demanding they apologize ("to the troops," of course).

Will it work?

26. They have also learned the media will parrot their calls for apologies.
Democrats must stand their ground and turn the discussion to the Bush administration myriad failures in Iraq.

5. Reading that quote the only thing delay and blunt could be upset
over is Nancy used too many multisyllabic words for their contituents to understand what she said, but you'd think they'd appreciate that. Or that she actually spoke the truth and delay had that rule eliminated too?

7. They sure do DEMAND a lot of the time.
I hope Pelosi says, FU! But I know it will be another relentless attack, non-stop until the intended target begins to crumple.

I wish Democrats would just stand up and call out these assholes! They just did the same type of thing to Durbin. (And, once again, he's pretty much standing out there all alone except for a few words of support from Harry Reid.) Stand up to these arrogant bullies!!! Don't back down, don't "explain", and grab the rest of the Democrats by the collars while smacking them upside the head!

The GOP has become the party of the apology police. They remind me of playground thugs. "Say you're sorry! Say Uncle!"

"Mrs. Pelosi's comments once again call into question the Democrat Party's seriousness on matters of national security," DeLay said. "Saying Operation Iraqi Freedom has been 'without success' and calling the liberation of 25 million Iraqis a 'grotesque mistake' exposes once again the weak and indecisive foreign policy of the Democrats' past."

How dare Ms. Pelosi call the "liberation of 25 million Iraqis" a grotesque mistake. You must agree with our language and frame or be exiled at once! Does Delay not know that MOST Americans think this war is a mistake?

All those dead people on both sides, the expenditure of our treasure, the ruin of our international standing, the dirty Republican politics, the questionable elections... really, it's an outstanding success, really. Sign me up for more! When do we invade Iran?

They want apologies from Dean.
They want apologies from Durbin.
They want apologies from Pelosi.
They want apologies from anybody who says something that gets under their skin even slightly.

What a thin-skinned bunch they are.

23. Is there more to her statement?
Because if not, I don't see what Whitetrash Delay claims:

DeLay added that Mrs. Pelosi's comments, coming on the heels of U.S. Senator Richard Durbin's (D-Ill.) remarks comparing American prison camps to Soviet Gulags and Nazi concentration camps, further undermines the credibility of her party in the war on terror.

Fuck these Texas and Southern assholes. They want a seperate republic, I say give it to 'em. Let these degenerate inbreeders pay their own damned taxes, see if they can survive without us. We Yanks will kick their ass again.

Before any of that happens of course, I would insist on helping relocate our Southern friends to the land of sanity.

The only thing I could find on it was the paid press releases of the GOP.

I expect the GOP is worried their pork defense spending bill will get some Nay votes today and they are warning Dems they will attack anyone voting no.

31. Dems have got to STOP apologizing for telling the truth.
The Republicans only turn the apology on them when they do it anyway. No apology is ever enough and then the story becomes about Republican outrage over Democratic remarks rather than the real story which is usually Republican ACTIONS and LIES.

Delay should know enough to stay out of the spotlight. He's got way too many things of his own for us to be OUTRAGED about. Why doesn't he start apologizing for being the biggest 'douchebag of liberty' there is. How about that. BTW, what's going on with Delay's little ethics problems, might be a perfect time to shine a light on the little cockroach man again. If he goes down, I predict lots of things will start to snowball (in a bad way) for the Republicans in Congress.

'When the Republicans stop telling lies about the Democrats, we'll stop telling the truth about them.'

"I should have been more precise about the aspect of Iraq war I consider a grotesque mistake--its PLANNING. The advisor who told the Bush Oval Office that he would need nearly twice the troop strength he had on hand lost his job. Millions of dollars are unaccounted for and soliders are not being properly equipped while permanent military bases and jails are being built and a defense contractor that still has VP Cheney on their payroll receives a $72 million bonus. I am sorry about one thing, though--that the GOP constantly uses the threat of a disservice being done to our troops as a distraction from apathy and incompetence of the people leading them."
