John Warner (R-Va) "praises Bush for steady and unflinching resolve"
The Bush administration contends that Iraqis must be able to defend their own country against a lethal insurgency before a timeline for bringing home troops can be considered.

But progress has been slower than expected. In recent weeks, insurgents have increasingly targeted Iraqi security forces. And U.S. casualties, war spending and public skepticism continue to climb, ruffling both Republicans and Democrats. “Leaving before the task is complete would be catastrophic,” Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the panel.

Committee Chairman John Warner, R-Va., praised President Bush for “steady and unflinching resolve.”

“Our great nation has an enormous capacity for sacrifice and hardship when we understand the cause is just,” he said.

1. Boy are these guys screwing themselves.
Look at where your steady and unflinching resolve has gotten us.

The American people might start thinking that steady and unflinching resolve might not be such a damn good thing after all.

They might start valuing truthfulness, competence, and intelligence. And that would be a disaster for Bush and the Repugs because they have none of that.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Nearly 40 people died in a rash of car bombings in Iraq’s capital over a 12-hour span, including two coordinated blasts early Thursday that killed 15 and wounded 28 in a central Baghdad shopping district, police said.

Thursday’s carnage in the capital’s Karradah area came on the heels of bloodshed late Wednesday that included four car bombs exploding within minutes of one another. At least 23 people were killed in western Baghdad’s Shula neighborhood and a nearby suburb. Nineteen were killed in Shula alone.

The attacks served as a chilling reminder of how potent militants remain in the capital despite around-the-clock American and Iraqi troop patrols.

what a fucking moron... :grr:

9. But when the cause is horseshit
usually Republicans are involved....

By the way, first Chimpy was going to get Osama dead or alive, then he ignored him entirely to invade Iraq for reasons that changed more often than Carson Kressley's outfits, and now we hear that Porter Goss knows where Osama is but doesn't want to go there and this corrupt drunk doesn't seem to care...in what alternate universe is that "steady and unflinching resolve?"

10. "...when we understand the cause is just"
Well then the lack of recruits for the military should be a big wake up call to Warner that this cause isn't just.

The man was a nobody prior to marrying Liz, being "Mr. Taylor" is what helped him to get noticed.

11. john warner..you idiot are an idiot..
If a liar keeps on lying does that mean he has "resolve"?

If a thief keeps on stealing does that mean he has "resolve"?

If a killer keeps on killing does that mean he has "resolve"?

Only in the current republican's playbook.

18. John Warner is an absolute prig...
who loves the sound of his own voice. He thinks if he says something out loud, it automatically becomes the godshonest truth. He type turns me off and scares me all at the same time.

19. Hey John, which Iraqis are you referring to? The ones who are trying
to dispel an occupying foreign nation, or those that have aligned themselves with the occupying foreign nation? Or the Kurdish Iraqis or the Sunni, Shia, or other?
