A call for compassion for killen
Check out this wonderful Soundoff in this morning's Sun Herald of Gulfport Mississippi

Whatever has happened to the words forgiveness, mercy and compassion? killen is a sick old man who apparently has led a good life for the past 40 years. What would Jesus do, ask yourself?

Things haven't changed much. A southerner calling for compassion for killen!

killen is a kkk leader who was found guilty of causing the death of three people who had the audacity to try to register American Citizens to vote. killen also was a christian conservative minister. killen and his kind are bush's base.

3. Killen planned to take the lives of three young men who
had dedicated their lives to the fair, equal and decent treatment of all Americans.

They didn't get to have a family and kids. They didn't get to be preachers and dads and brothers and leaders in the community. He stole their lives. He punished their ideas of fairness and decency with a sentence of death.

It is only fitting that he be punished for their deaths accordingly.

I don't care how old he is. He hasn't repented. He hasn't announced any regret or sorrow that their lives were taken, by whatever means.

For every action you take against a human in civil society there is a consequence; it's part of our social bargain with each other. He must pay the piper now.
