Tell your Senators to Oppose the Amendment for Flag Burning
(that is, if you want them to oppose it)

I just sent my two senators a little note because I know this is supposed to come up in the senate now.

OPPOSE FLAG BURNING AMENDMENT

Why would we take something that represents freedom and pass an amendment over that freedom to eliminate freedom? It is absurd. This GOP is all for book burning but not flag burning. And if the amendment is passed then how exactly are we suppose to dispose of a tattered flag properly since we will no longer be able to burn it.
According to the United State Flag Code 36s 176(k): "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."

The first amendment allows for freedom of speech which has been extended to the sense of freedom of expression. While I have never burned an American flag, and do not plan on doing so, I do feel that depriving an individual of the option of burning a flag curtails a freedom that the American flag is supposed to represent.

So please oppose this amendment.

1. Right. This flag-burning is just an attempt to promote false "patriotism"
and represents an effort to distort/create the "us versus them" psyops.

Who in the hell wants to burn the flag anyhow?

Burn pictures of Rove and Chimperor instead--the TRUE anti-Americans. Much more to the point.

4. You forgot
A list of other objects to burn if this by some freak accident goes into effect.

- The confederate battle flag
- Obsolete flags (48 star flags)
- Flags that are intentionally defective; i.e wrong number of stripes.
- The constitution, oh wait that's what they're burning.
