Be aggressive - don't ask for apologies you're not going to get
Does anyone really expect Karl Rove or any Republican to apologize for any statement no matter how stupid or lacking in judgement that statement is? Instead, Dems should hammer how totally inept this Republican administration has been from the git go. Outgoing National Security Advisor Sandy Berger testified that he repeatedly warned Condi that terrorism would be the number one issue on her plate. We all know that missile defense, i.e., "star wars", was the chief concern of this administration soon after taking office in early 2001. The Presidential Daily Briefing in early August of that year emphasized that al Qaida was determined to strike in the U.S. and the response of Bush was to head to Crawford for a vacation. The bottom line is that 9/11 happened on the watch of this terrible administration. These points should be repeated ad infinitem by Dems to any Repukelican attack. Wear these MFs down with continual criticism. Don't demand apologies for God's sake.

1. The republicans demand them
and they hound the person until they get it. We should do the same, but I no longer want an apology, I want him fired. That sort of behavior has no place in the administration. The citizen of the US deserve respect.

4. Unfortunately....
Until we stop GIVING them the apologies they demand, we will be seen as weak and wimpy. They are a like a pride of lions attacking the weakest animals in the pack right now. Durbin's apology weakened this Party badly, so they saw it their chance to take us down again.

That's why a call for ALL Democrats to find their balls (and ovaries), and show some guts is not out of line at the moment.

I applaud any and all such calls.

TC

6. Me, too,
the next time a republican demands any apology, I will be first in line to write, call, e-mail and tell the Dem not to do it! We should always be *puzzled* as to why the repubs are so upset. Perhaps we just *touched a cord*.

3. I always roll my eyes when the repubs do it but it gets results.
I doubt it will work in this case, however.

5. Wrong! -- What sauce for the goose...
The Republicans are the ones who started this frenzy of "apologies."
We SHOULD apply the same standards to them.
