19% Approval rating - at this point Ohio's Gov. Taft should just resign

Actually, I take that back - he should just keep doing what he's doing because he's going to help motivate democrats in that state to get more democrats elected. Hell the next worst governor is still 8 points higher than him (Murkowski of Alaska)

Gov. Bob Taft has the lowest approval rating of any governor in the nation, a new national poll shows.

New Jersey-based SurveyUSA, an independent firm that does polling primarily for television stations, found that the Republican had an approval rating of 19 percent.

Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski, a Republican, was next to last at 27 percent; Republican Gov. John Hoeven, of North Dakota, had the highest rating at 71 percent.

In my business, I am lucky to hang on to what I have. I don't want to leave and lose benefits. However, attorneys, marketers, and many others could take a pause from their careers then get back into it when they are done with campaigning and/or governing.

Yes, Taft is toast, but the republicans will bring in some "Mr. Clean" that they have, to keep the Governorship & the Secretary of States office in the republican column for the 2008 presidential election.

The republicans desperately need to keep Ohio in the "red".

And we ALL know, the republicans count the vote, own the electronic voting machines and own the media.

Our job, all over the country (and I live in CA) is to make sure a Democrat wins the governorship in Ohio, somehow!

Just having Taft at 19% and toast is not going to do it, it's NOT enough!

8. Ted Strickland may have a very good shot in 2006. But I don't think

Mike DeWine's approval ratings are that low, so it will be a little more difficult to knock him off. But Ohio is a very equally divided state, and DeWine ticked off social conservatives with his role in the filibuster deal so there could be a primary challenge against him. I think Rep. Tim Ryan should take on DeWine. He's young, good-looking, articulate, and has been concise in his arguments over the handling of Social Security and the Iraq War.

I can only guess how low they are after the breaking of the continued investment and then deception through silence of state funds in a hedgefund that was losing money (and lost more than one hundred million before it was done.)

according to this article, at least:

Emerging from his living room with wife Frankie behind him, Mayor Coleman gave thumbs up to the 10TV camera as he walked outside to make the biggest political decision of his life.

He becomes the first Democrat, so far, in a crowded Republican field to run for the state's top job.

It's a state, he says, is in crisis.

Coleman says, "Can I stand by when Ohio has lost 200,000 jobs in our state over the past four years? Do we simply turn the other way when Ohio is making $1,500 less than other Americans?"

On the flip-side Sherrod Brown is not going to run for statewide office in 2006. :(

I want to see how low he DOES have to go to resign, and then apply that number to Bush. Don't know that it willbe the same, but interesting to watch just the same.
