For the second time in his presidential race, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry has shaken up his campaign team, hiring the former chief of staff for Missouri Rep. Dick Gephardt.
Kerry's campaign hired Steve Elmendorf on Friday with just 11 days left until the Missouri Democratic primary Feb. 3.
"Steve will be concentrating on the entire political operation, but Missouri will be a strong part of his operation," said David Morehouse, Kerry's communications director.

It was a wrenching decision, Elmendorf, 42, told the New York Times by telephone Saturday. "I wanted Dick Gephardt to become president," Elmendorf said. "I wanted to work for him in the White House. It was very hard to lose. But I entered this two-year period planning to work on a campaign, and once he lost, I thought it was best to keep going. There's no question in my mind that John Kerry is the best candidate still in the field." http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0125az-kerry25.html
