He supports the war but is scared of the draft...
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/nation/stories/062505dnnatdraftsider.4104ae9e.html

I was untouchable at 17.

Eric Gentry Sure, I thought I was tough. But my parents paid for my school clothes, I couldn't have sneaked into a Dallas club if I wanted to, and though the war in Iraq was still raging, I figured I couldn't be farther from danger.

Then I turned 18 in May, and that shield of invulnerability was lowered.

"Oh," I remember my mom saying. "You have to register for the draft – right?"

She was scared as a mom should be, and suddenly her son was scared, too.

I long for our troops abroad to return home. But I believe in the freedom they fight to spread, and I support the decision to go to war in Iraq. But once I became 18, I realized that at the government's whim I could be heading to that war at any time

BTW his email addy is posted at the link:)

2. That's right..if you support it then
you should be prepared to go fight in it.

bush had a "whim" to go to war so he lied and there's no fucking Freedom involved. bush is spreading HOT BEDS OF Terrorism in the Middle East and you should buy a clue.

3. Ugh
Interviewing young men locally, I learned that most echoed my grandfather's commitment. If their country needed them, they would go to war.

Your country needs you. Enlist. Recruiting is at crisis levels. The only difference between the state of things now and a draft is that in the draft the government isn't asking you anymore.

After all, Karl's going to off to fight in Iraq to show all us lily-livered liberals how it's done. Fightin' fer freedom, you know.

5. I had started to compose (an e-mail) letter to that young lad,but
I said "Fuck it" & deleted it before sending. Let him find out first hand the 'glory' :sarcasm: of war.

Was I wrong to not say anything?

9. Maybe he can show his patriotism

by tying a US flag to the antenna of his car, and
driving back and forth in front of Shrub's "ranch".

15. How many hours would a Walmart worker need to work to buy a kevlar vest?
Even Walmart workers need to eat, sleep and shower.

So, how much time passes before the Walmart guy saves $600?
