I just got an email from a congressional listserv I belong to with the guy who is running for the seat I ran for in 2004 explaining that the DCCC is targeting the same district that we lost last time around with less votes then *I* lost with.
Now Paul Babbitt had a lot of money (over a million from what I understand) and his opponent had tons of money too. Look at the results: CD-1 Paul Babbitt vs. Rick Renzi 91,776 148,315 Amount spent by Dem: $1,258,337 Amount spent by Rep: $2,184,925 Now here is Randy's race. Randy is a great guy, Hispanic, pro-choice and everything we could want in a candidate (former teacher in fact I believe)...here are his results: CD-2 Randy Camacho vs. Trent Franks 107,406 165,260 Amount spent by Dem: $56,629 Amount spent by Rep: $722,217 Then there are my results... CD-5 Elizabeth Rogers vs. JD Hayworth 102,363 159,455 Amount spent by Dem: $4,898 Amount spent by Rep: $1,307,572
Now which district would you think the Democrats could win? ARGH! The DCCC should be showering money onto Larry King who is running in my district and Randy Camacho!
ARGH!
Votes and amounts collected from the Arizona Secretary of State's office and the FEC website.
