The only divided dems left are those who flounder about thinking it's a game and don't take it seriously.

Of course, there's also those who put something above making the country better (i.e. voting for Democrats) and are small picture people.

3. I don't know if "united" is the right word ...

Repugs don't question authority ... they don't think for themselves. They believe whatever they're told to believe and repeat whatever talking points they hear.

That's not unity - that's blind obedience.

5. Thickheaded is more like it. (Let me post this here)

I see the perfect example of how repubs think. He's across the street from my property. He has a chainsaw. He is dismembering an entire forest. And his mentality is typical of those who don't want anyone getting in their way. I managed to talk with the guy. He seems like a nice person. But when he pointed around to the clearcut countryside, he mentioned that he had done all of that.
Now I've always wondered just how someone could walk into a beautiful forest with a chainsaw, cut it all down, and walk away without looking back and thinking. Just thinking the slightest thought that they had done something bad. But they don't. In this neighborhood we're all dismayed that this guy is falling the trees that we love. But these trees belonged to someone else. Someone who believes that earth is his bank account.
It's the combination of thickheadedness combined with misguided values that comprises this group of people. And their actions are ones of aggression. They cannot be stopped without force. Reason isn't part of their logic. If you don't believe it, see the Toys For Tots program that was shown on the Daily Show.
I don't suppose this makes a lot of sense. But I see it, and it's as bright as the sun. I see republicans. I see chainsaws. I see disaster. Replace the chainsaws with machine guns, and you have Iraq.

6. Not since the Schiavo intrusion

There were many 'Republicans for Clinton, Gore, Kerry' types who saw the theocratic neocons for what they are but the face of government intrusion into the most private personal event was evident in the Schiavo matter. Tom DeLay, Rick Santorum, Jeb and W became the poster boys with even many efungelicals turned off by that mess. That was just a catalyst that people could relate to personally. Now those that were jolted awake now question the WMD lies, the long term strategy for Iraq, rising oil prices, foreign policy goals, social security private accounts and fiscal irresponsibility.

So, my answer to your question is 'NO'...the unholy alliance between traditional Republicans and the Rapturist Right/neocons is splintering.

they do what they're told or else. their agenda is so full of greed and hatred they couldn't get elected if they didn't stick together and blame the dems for everything. oh, a little cheating doesn't hurt either. and they are also very good at fooling people with the help of MSM:grr:
