Did Bush take the blame for Iran falling into hard-liner hands?
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 08:05 PM by gulliver
There seems to have been some sleight of hand here. I missed the news where it said "in a blow to the Bush Administration assertions of progress in the Middle East, Iran's elections threw the country into the hands of conservative, anti-American Ayatollahs."

Bush complained they were unfair elections, of course. And they probably were. But to be completely Republican about it, isn't the bottom line the bottom line? Would Donald Trump take Bush's excuse?

Let's just be plain-spoken. More territory is in the hands of Islamists and Muslim fundamentalists. Black and white.

3. You probably also missed the headlines from Lebanon which read
"Despite recent opposition to Syrian control, Hizbollah wins many seats in recent election".

4. Iran has a strong reform movement
which Bush didn't help with his inclusion of them in his "axis of evil" nonsense.

This just pissed off the reactionary types who voted hard-line and made it more difficult for the reformers.

Bush has all the diplomatic skills of a rabid badger.

5. Bush, blame, in the same sentence?
He will not ever take responsibility for anything.
