Bush just said "the terrorists...". That makes it sound like they are a quantitative force that can be completely eliminate in one stroke, like "the Nazis". Nazism was a political party in Germany that was defeated completely in a single war. Terrorism isn't just something to defeat in one blow. I would be surprised to see no more terrorists after we've won the war on terrorism.

Using this is analogous to using the term "suprise attacks" as a reason the USA entered World War Two.
Don't look like we accomplished the mission of defeating those who attack us by suprise, does it?
