7. David Gergen was on CNN right after speech

For some time now, I have had a theory that just spending one night inside the beltway will fuckup your reasoning powers beyond repair forever. David Gergen's behavior tonight is one linchpin in that theory. He couldn't pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel. He was trying to ballyhoo the speech, but Paula Zahn kept bringing him back to this universe. Gergen thinks Bush bought time with this speech. Time? For what? Jesus, what passes for intelligence inside the beltway would be ridiculed anyplace else. This guy served four Presidents? As what? A clown jester?
