1. Dean has plenty to rip Bush and Repukes on..including that f-ing speech

I just hope Howard stays on message, land blasts Bush for his ridiculous speech last night, and comes off honest and direct.

No matter what, there is a good chance whatever he says is replayed over and over on CNN, the Today Show, quoted in the Times, Post, etc etc.

He's got to be careful how he says his opinion. The american people are finally starting to swing to our side in realizing this war isnt worth it.

Dean should respond to the utter bullshit of 'liberal media' claims when every network broadcasts the totally not-news speech, and some corporate tools like Matthews' actually pretend their seeking a 'townhall' input, while stacking the deck to the point where it is unavoidable to show unwavering * support.

8. There is a Subtle trap that Dems can fall into

but I think and hope that Dean will be to smart to do so.

The Democratic party can not afford to be the party of defeatism, for all the rose colored looking back and congratulating about the anti-war protesters of the 60's/70's they only won when the public in mass got sick of the SE Asia war.

The public is not at that junction yet concerning Iraq and an anti-war stance that can made to stick will cause the Democrats problems in 06.

Specifically the GOP will argue that the Democrats are the party of "cut and run" and can not be trusted to defend the nation.

You can already see it coming down the pipe (see Rove's comments of last week).

I remember the 60's and anti-war candidates always had an uphill climb. Here and there a congress critter may get elected as an anti-war type, but I can not think of any out and out anti-war types running for Senate (perhaps McCarthy) who won until 74 (and that could be argued was Watergate fall out and not love of the anti-war sentiment).

If we get branded as the party of anti-war and cut and run we will compound our problems.

We need to stop the Iraq problem, and I wish I was smart enough to tell you how, but I am not. I do no that the GOP will hang an subtle anti-american tag on us if we are not careful, they have done it before.

Matthews was respectful thankfully and
didn't make too many stupid statements.
