4. SAme thing happened in Iowa
Nasty, coldest weather of the winter so far, everyone was sayng that the oldsters would stay home, but they were out in force, and while there were a lot of young voters, many of the yougest were the ones who didnt turn up due to the cold.

Same thing with the older New Hampshire voters. They tend to be far more committed and dont let snow deter them. (rain or sleet either...I wonder if New Hampshire is filled with retired postmen)

9. NH is NOT Iowa
NH isn't a farming state, it's a retail and manufacturing state. Totally different kind of population. Oh, and NH loves to undo whatever Iowa does in primaries. NH elections are decided by the Independents, not the Democrats or Republicans...that's why it's tough for pundits to predict what's going to happen there.

8. The roads are clear right now up here, but it's freezing cold
I mean frostbite and risk of exposure cold. It's too cold to snow right now. Not sure how it will be over the next two days, though.

14. Dean and Clark do better
if the weather sucks. Dean and Clark supporters are the most dedicated. They are more likely to show up than supporters of any other candidate.

16. Very bad whether (like hard to drive in snow)
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 05:41 PM by HFishbine
Would help Dean. 67% of those who say they'll vote for him describe themsleves as committed -- the highest percentage of any candidate. I suspect it will be the less committed, less certain voters who would be first to stay home.

"Two-thirds (66%) of Dean's supporters say their support is 'very strong,' as do 56% of Kerry's. "
