Breaking......The Capitol has been evacuated.
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 05:54 PM by Scout1071
Secret Service: "Air scare that prompted evacuation is over."

Isn't that convenient. The networks have stopped talking about what an utter disaster *'s speech was last night and started focusing on a "terra" alert.

The speech didn't work last night, so it's time to start the "terra" alerts again.

5. MSNBC is now questioning why the White House wasn't evacuated
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 06:12 PM by Scout1071
and why wasn't the whole city warned if there was a real danger?

Fair question.

7. Very fair question.
And I'd say the answer is: "Because it was bullshit."

Gawd, this HAS to be the worst presidency EVER.

6. Even with this, they don't win because
if we are having air scares here, my first question is "HEY, I thought you said we are fighting them THERE so that they don't come HERE, asshole?"

Besides, that's a jacked-up lie being used to rationalize an illegal, immoral war anyway.

But still, it completely invalidates their newest reason for attacking Iraq.

8. Why isn't all of DC being warned if there is true danger?
If I was a resident, I would be pissed that I wasn't receiving the same warnings.

12. Another Capital Evacuation, by Dennis Kucinich
Another Capital Evacuation
by Dennis Kucinich, June 29, 2005

I was on my way into the Capitol to cast a vote to save Amtrak around 6:30 this evening when one of the plainclothes guards pulled me aside and said "we have a Code Orange". Meaning an elevated threat level.

About five minutes later a Code Red was called and the mad scramble out of the Capitol began once again because an aircraft intruded into the Capitol airspace.

Aircon Red was soon dropped back to orange and then yellow. I went to a Greek Restaurant to eat dinner and was just told the police are letting people back into the building. All clear.

13. This WaPo article says the WH was also evacuated.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/06/29/AR2005062902470.html

If these dopes flying small planes would follow the rules, none of this crap would happen.

14. If we can charge the "Runaway Bride" then shouldn't we be able
to charge these pilots? I mean, what exactly was the cost of this "exercise"?
