HOWARD DEAN was absolutely spectacular on Tweety's
show. He had a great answer for all the questions that came his way. I sure would like to know why the ranking Democrats on the hill are'nt speaking out like Dean is.

1. "was"??
You do know he's still on for another segment... I wonder: Is the WHOLE show going to be Howard Dean? It's already been a half hour of him... Lot's of face time on the TeeVee...

Go Howard!

2. Soooooooooooo...
When is Howard Dean and all of the prominent Democrats in Congress goign to call for an investigation (and impeachment.....say in 2007 after we take back Congress hopefully)into the pre-war intelligence and lies leading up to the war with Iraq?

The Downing Street Memo and other of such documents are out there, and Dean and those prominent Democrats need to get the country aware and take advantage of Bush's falling poll numbers on Iraq!!!

Iraq shouldn't be center of war on terror

Sunday, August 17, 2003 Posted: 4:16 PM EDT (2016 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Wesley Clark, who once served as NATO commander and might have presidential aspirations, attacked the Bush administration Sunday for launching a war with Iraq on "false pretenses" and spreading the military too thin amid the global war on terrorism.

"You'd be taking them to the Better Business Bureau if you bought a washing machine the way we went into the war in Iraq," Clark said on CNN's "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer."

Clark, who led the alliance during the 1999 Kosovo conflict, has been increasingly critical of the Iraq war. His criticism could be a prelude to an announcement that he will run for president.

Clark, a retired Army general, said more than half of the Army's deployable strength is committed to stabilizing Iraq, where American and allied soldiers face continuing attacks four months after Saddam Hussein's government collapsed.

"We've made America more engaged, more vulnerable, more committed less able to respond," he said. "We've lost a tremendous amount of goodwill around the world by our actions and our continuing refusal to bring in international institutions."

He said that if Iraq "is the centerpiece of the war on terror, it shouldn't be."

-snip-

So far, no evidence of weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq. U.S. officials have said evidence found since the war began suggests that Iraq was still trying to produce them.

Clark has called on Congress to investigate allegations that the Bush administration overstated intelligence about Iraq's weapons programs.

3. The other dems (except for Kennedy, Conyers, and a few others) are
whores, just like the republicans.

Instead of a nameplate on their desks, they just need to have a dollar sign followed by the minimum amount it would take for them to sell their party and constituents out. I will use Joe Biden as an example. (I think Lieberman is actually sincere in his republicanism. He needs to switch parties for our good and his own.)

4. They aren't speaking out because
most of them voted for the Iraq War.

Kerry did, Clinton did, Lieberman did, Biden did, Bayh did.

Howard should have mentioned some of those that have consistently called the Iraq War a blunder: Byrd, Kennedy, Feingold, Boxer, to name a few.

17. The best thing these people could do
and I don't know why Kerry didn't say it when he was campaigning, is, "YES--I voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq. However, facts have since come to light that Congress was LIED to in presenting the case for war. If we knew then, what we knew now, NO ONE would have voted yes."

6. A bit too hawkish on Iran for me
IMHO, he should be condemning the corrupt Saudi Kingdom, and bush's ties to it, not parroting the bush admin's stance on Iran.

Other than that, very good.

12. I didn't see it
Matthews said Dean was the only Dem who thinks the war was a mistake?

Huh? I don't get that, either.

11. Give em Hell Howard!
Dean was great. He stayed on message. Tweety tried to get howard to throw some punches by bringing out the Cheney quote and the quote about no Rethug worked an honest day in their lives and then saying his parents were Rethugs and they worked hard. That question gave Dean a chance to respond and he was great. He said that the Republican leadership never worked an honest day in their lives and could care less about the lives of working people.
