1. Without following the link...I'm deducing that this myth is that

Bush is still hung up on Iraq attacking us on 9/11?

I don't personally see how he can get away asking for Americans to sacrifice further using that non-fact as an argument. It's like saying, "I made a mistake, now you must die to save my reputation and legacy. Authenticate my presidency by believing my bullshit."

3. I can feel their desperation. All they need is one more

catastrophic attack to keep dissent in check. They provide the crisis, and the media and right-wing voters will provide the misguided pressure.

I see more stolen elections and conscription in the future.

4. I'm not sure another attack would work

how many stupid conservatives have you heard saying WE HAVEN'T BEEN ATTACKED SINCE 9/11 - as if the morons thought letting bush have a pass on the biggest security breach in American history was a good idea. People are starting to wake up and they are not at all pleased with what they are seeing.

GOP and stolen elections go hand in hand so I have no doubt they'll be pulling more Diebold magic.

6. I don't see how they can get away with conscription

without something more imminent threatening the U.S. Right now the world is waiting for us to recognize that we have egg on our face. Actually, I think they're being quite civil giving us this opportunity to find a way to express our Mea Culpas. Unfortunately, it's probably a waste of time because I don't think Bush will accept political defeat. The Repubs have been living in their own bubble since the Newt years, and I'm afraid that they won't let that go.

The only thing that will turn the tide in a peaceful & favorable manner, is if the moderates in the Republican party start taking on the conservatives. And you need moderates who are not tainted from their previous association with Bush. In other words, no Powell, no McCain and no Whitman.

If not them, then us. There will be a sloppy exchange of accusations from people on the street. Expect uncomfortable moments at work around the watercooler, expect your kid getting blackballed on the soccer fields because of your previous political opinions (both dem or repub); and expect the wedge between right and left to get deeper.

All of this because we don't really have a strong, respected media who can challenge Bush or the right-wing conservative machinery.

5. i just listened to the MATTHEWS-DEN PART I video.

...it has such a sound of a dialogue between two men who are not trying to spin one another that it is actually refreshing to hear ... even when the subject is the pain of factually facing the consequences we have earned as a result of bush putting us in Iraq.

How come democratic leaders like John Kerry and Joe Biden completely support this war, but just have nitpicky problems with the management of it while you have been against it all along?
