Fly your flags, like Bush asked...but At Half Staff

I want to suggest that flying the flag upside down is liable to piss off some people who's support in ending the war we might want. It will be seen by some (older veterans come to mind) as disrespectful.

Flying the flag at half-staff is a well accepted symbol, and if everyone who questioned the war did this over the long weekend, it would be a powerful symbol of how united this country is inspite of Bush (in fact, because of him) in questioning this war in Iraq.

If I had a flag I would probably do that since I live in the town where the Phelps clan flies an enormous flag upside down all the time. Here you might be taken for a Phelps supporter if you did that. LOL, if they only knew me.

I will pass that along to others here who feel the same as I do.

7. Common practice dicates otherwise

I'll have to let the VFW and state workers know no more flying the flag at half mast for local dignataries passing, etc.

I resent the suggestion that flying the flag at half-mast is somehow in the same domain of statements as flag burning.
