Seal of the Department of the Army

He's at Fort Bragg, and Army base, the 9/11 flag decision is intriguing but PLEASE stop calling them smiley faces - it's moronic

Oh look, their Seal only shows 9 stripes and eleven stars too, I guess that proves 9/11 was planned in 1974

1. I don't think anyone really thought they WERE smiley faces
They just look like them. Come on.... they DO look a lot like a smiley face :-)

2. Oh for God's sake...
... we know they're not smiley faces! Posters (like me) said that they "looked" like smiley faces.

5. Puzzler definitely said "looks like" the rest referred to them as
smiley faces but I don't think they meant any disrespect. Let's face it, when you put a chimp in from of the seals it's very difficult to take them serious or to see what they actually are, he debases them by his mere presence.JMO

6. It's not a matter of respect
I just see "Smiley Face" shotgunned all over the board and it makes us look, for lack of better terms, foolish - in my most respectfully submitted humble opinion and all that

parade ourselves around like patriotic brain dead moronic puppets who on a cursory inspection are cowardly hypocrites. My "foolish" mates make me smile

edit: removed "but" in subject line because it sounded daft :-)

8. Granted, I'd rather have people going on about smiley faces
and that bird ball and hook thing the Marines carry around on their uniforms than parrot patriotic bullshit - but I still feel somewhat obliged to ~try~ set people right if they don't recognize seals like that
