Bush to Push Building Nuclear Plants at G8 Summit
6 July 2005
Forget that there is no place to store the waste, forget the dangers of a meltdown, and forget the fact that nuclear plants are targets for terrorists… Bush thinks he has a “Hot Idea” to ease Global Warming, and he’s running (we suggest he give up bicycling) with that idea, all the way to the G8 Summit.
His proposal is to build more nuclear power plants. So there you have it, Bush’s so called alternative to the Kyoto Treaty that he has been hyping for the past couple of days.
Initially when Bush first started talking about building more nuclear plants a few months ago, he billed it as a way ease our “energy woes.” Then the NY Times revealed that there were flaws in Bush’s pipe dream of building more nuclear plants.
The idea of building more nuclear plants sets a dangerous precedent on many levels, when, as mentioned above, so many issues regarding nuclear power plants have remained unresolved for years.
