Reminds me of Kerry's number a month ago, seemed like every day he would lose a point. Clark was in trouble the moment it was clear Kerry won Iowa, because Kerry then became the Dean alternative candidate. To make matters worse, Edwards came on strong in Iowa and now leads the South Carolina polls. So Clark can't even be considered the southern candidate who will be the strongest in the SC election. He may surprise and beat Dean in NH and give his South Carolina numbers some help.

I distinctly heard Tim Russert telling Tom Brokaw that Gen. Clark had fallen to 4th place, behind Sen. Lieberman, and that the race between Sen. Kerry and Gov. Dean had tightened to a 7 point spread, 30-23..

11. Keep in mind that there is a margin of error for the polls

and a confidence interval around each estimate. The CI's get larger as the percentages get smaller. If ARG isn't biased then no one really has a clue where Clark, Dean and Edwards support is.

Go New Hampshire, play with our minds!! Its going to stay interesting until Tuesday.

We didn't believe the polls then, and have a wait and see attitude now.

We'll either do well in New Hampshire or we won't. It's just New Hampshire. No matter what happens there, we're on to Feb. 3rd and beyond. Don't let the polls scare you!

18. I have not wavered once how Clark will do in NH.

4th & above for him is a win. My guess is he will take 3rd & may suprise everyone & take 2nd. So I don't see NH. a problem for Clark.

I heard that they will be posting post-Iowa polls on those states later tonight and supposedly their SC results will show SC as Edwards, Kerry, Sharpton, Clark and Dean...but we'll just have to wait and see.

I found it strange Dean would be in the lead in those states at this point. Too good to be true. The January 25 date threw me off.

Hi Bucky. I feel your pain and it's good to get it out there. May I suggest though, that as a Clark supporter, you not use a header that puts an accent on an unfavorable polling report? I would leave that to Clark's opponents to do for us. They usually do, but since we like talking to each other, we only keep kicking that header to the top of the front page every time we respond to you. I have no problem with the topic, but a lot of people on DU who are not backing a candidate only read the topic titles. Yours sounds like all of Clark's supporters are loosing faith, which I know IS NOT TRUE. Everything is fluid in NH right now, lots of people make last minute decisions. McCain won in 2000 though Bush was way ahead in the polls. Clark was absolutely on fire at his rally today.

Clark supporters have more anxiety than everyone else! ;) Not knocking anyone for it, I'm feeling it too..but we've had alot of threads like this lately.

When Kerry and Edwards were faltering or behind in the polls, we didn't see their supporters have a mass DU freakout, so I think we need to have some more confidence!

Like Tom says, things are fluid in NH. We don't know what's going to happen in New Hampshire on Tuesday..so let's relax a little bit or at least pretend like we are! ;)
