Will Britain pull out of Iraq like Spain?

I doubt it, only if Blair is ousted as Labour leader his successor will most likely pull out.

1. Blair will resist, his government will fail, then another election will..
...be held and if Blair is outed by an anti-war candidate, the Brits will then pull out.

8. That's basically the way the parliamentary system works......
....although there could be shadow forces in Britain working against that process like here in the U.S. undermining the democratic processes. Sadly, short of impeachment or the recall crap that was pulled in California that outed Governor Gray Davis and got Schwarzenegger voted in, nothing like that exists here in the U.S.

5. They already are
They already are pulling troops out of Iraq.

Sure they're redirecting them to Afghanistan, but they are looking to have less then 2,000 troops stationed in Iraq after all is said and done.

2. The whole "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them...
... over here" is sounding kinda hollow in London right now.

You can bet there'll be an outcry for it. And Blair is teetering as it is.

16. So what does Homeland Security Director Chertoff do.....
...he elevates the security level for mass transportation only to Code Orange, tells everyone not to be afraid, go about our normal business, BUT KEEP OUR EYES AND EARS GLUED ON EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING! Geeze.....BushCo, the do nothing administration, watch your own ass and get out of the way should something happen.

6. How Many Brit Troops Are Even In Iraq Now?
I heard somebody on the radio say they've already reduced it down, taken out 75% of them.

7. 9,000 - here is a link to the best article on the subject
http://www.guardian.co.uk/afghanistan/story/0,1284,1522222,00.html
<snip>

They say the number of British troops in Iraq could be cut to fewer than 2,000 over the next 12 to 18 months. There are some 9,000 there now. That would make it much easier for Britain to meet its commitment to take over the lead Nato role in Afghanistan from next May.

10. Thank You!
I've been curious about this of course, not something they even talk about in the media here, not surprised to see it in the Guardian.

14. Then we will be there all alone...not good!
No matter what, the mess in Vietraq will have to be wrapped up in some kind of orderly way in order for us to pull out. We have to have the Brits or it will be more of a burden on us.
