The incredible irony of the Iran/Iraq "military pact"

I have no doubt that part of Cheney, Rummy, Wolfie and Condi's thinking in invading Iraq is that, with a US/Israel friendly puppet government safely installed, Iraq-based subversion of the Iranian "Moolahs" would be near the top of the agenda (after privatizing Iraq's oilfields, of course). But from day one (as anyone with half a brain could have predicted), the opposite has been true--Iran has managed to turn the tables and fulfill much of its own agenda in Iraq. They've basically used the American military to overthrow their bitterest rival and place their political operatives in power in Iraq. The ultimate irony may be that Ahmed Chalabi--who according to the CIA may be an Iranian operative--now has his hand on the oil spigot in Iraq. Get 'er done, George!
