1. We can only hope. If this were a Dem, it would have happened
a very long time ago. Thanks for the link.

3. I doubt Rove is in danger. Rove is too smart to do his own dirty work.
Rove is setting us up to support jailing errant journalists. This is an attack on the press - supported by liberals - just so we can get Rove.

Does anybody really believe that Rove would be dumb enough to make such an obvious mistake? However, Liberals are only too happy to see this judge toss a journalist in jail for not revealing her source. What happened to freedom of the press? Furthermore, I don't understand why Novak is not being jail also?

Something smells funny here.

since the beginning of time. This is just another example.

Trust me. Bush and his entire cabal are going to go down behind this and all the paths that will finally be exposed, ( not discovered, since many here and in other cyber communities have long known and said. )

REPENT !
THE END IS NEAR !

6. I am hoping you are right.

I am convinced Rove is using this to intimidate journalists. Right now, the good one is in jail and Rove is free as a bird. This reminds me of Dan Rather - it never made sense to see how Dan had been set up like he was.

Rove is very tricky. Karma always wins, and eventually Rove will go down. But I still think somehow he will come out saying 'gotcha' on this. I truly hope I'm wrong, and can look you up and congratulate you for your insight.

5. I agree that it's strange about Novak, and
I'm also conflicted on the whole "journalistic integrity" thing. But isn't it different in this case? Isn't the issue not that journalists can't keep their sources confidential, but that in this case it's a matter of security? Because Plame was a CIA agent? I've kind of thought of it as akin to the whole doctor/patient confidentiality situation, where in only very certain and specific circumstances can a doctor violate the agreement.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. The MSM is making it sound like whistleblowers and ALL sources must now be named, but that's not how I understand it.

7. But that's just what makes me suspicious.

Outing Valerie Plame was such a serious crime - it makes me doubt that Rove did it. However, just the suspicion that he might have been the source makes us so hot, that we demand the journalist be jailed to reveal her source.

The benefit to Karl Rove is this - any current WH deepthroat will think twice about going to the press IF they believe the journalist will be forced to give them up.

Can you imagine what would happen if any WH deepthroat was outed today? There would be no witness protection program good enough to keep them safe from the throngs of gun toting freepturds out there.

8. There is a huge difference between
keeping a whistleblowers identity secret and keeping a source who is committing a crime secret. By keeping a criminal action by a source secret, the reporter becomes an accessory to the crime.
