Bush Radio: "Fighting terrorists abroad so we don't have to face them...
at home."

We are now waging a global war on terror -- from the mountains of Afghanistan to the border regions of Pakistan, to the Horn of Africa, to the islands of the Philippines, to the plains of Iraq. We will stay on the offense, fighting the terrorists abroad so we do not have to face them at home. We will continue to deny the terrorists safe haven and the support of rogue states. And at the same time, we will spread the universal values of hope and freedom that will overwhelm their ideology of tyranny and hate. The free world did not seek this conflict, yet we will win it.

Here at home, federal, state, and local officials are doing everything possible to protect us from another terrorist attack in America. While we have no specific credible information suggesting an imminent attack in the United States, in light of the bombings in London, we have raised the threat level from elevated to high for our passenger rail, subway, and bus systems. I urge all Americans to remain alert, and to report any suspicious activity to your local authorities.

This week, there is great suffering in the city of London. Yet the British people are resilient, and they have faced brutal enemies before. The nation that survived the Nazi Blitz will not be intimidated by terrorists. And just as America and Great Britain stood together to defeat the murderous ideologies of the 20th century, we again stand together to defeat the hateful ideologies of the 21st century.

The terrorists cannot shake our will. America and its allies will act decisively, because we know that the future of civilization is at stake in this struggle, and we know that the cause of freedom will prevail.

May God bless the people of Great Britain, and may He continue to bless America.

5. Isn't that insulting to the British people?
"Fighting over there so we don't have to fight them here". The UK isn't "us"? Or that's ok because it wasn't on AMERICAN soil?

2. I'm trying to remember if the Poodle said the same thing
and if anyone in England believed him.

While I don't live in fear, I think it is only a matter of time before something similar happens here. And so much for fighting them over there...

4. The most glaring flaw
"Here at home, federal, state, and local officials are doing everything possible to protect us from another terrorist attack in America."

And this would be--A FREAKING LIE!! Our port security hasn't been upgraded, our railway transportation lies haven't been secured, and our first-responders haven't been properly funded.

6. Bombing nations abroad so more people who never in their wildest
dreams would have taken up arms against the U.S. will be produced. Leaving our southern border open to ensure that I will have an excuse to call for martial law and do away with elections. Yes, I am insane and I live in the whitehouse. While it may be true that Clinton could not have gotten away with a fraction of what I have... 911 has given me a pretty wide berth... doncha think??? ;)

7. I absolutely go nuts every time I hear this.

When did the Iraqis invite us to use their country to fight our battle. Did they say..."hey, don't mess up your country. Come on over here...bring your military, invite the terrorists, rip up our buildings, kill our inncocent...."

I'd like to hear Blair say..."England is such a small country, we can't fight here...let's take this battle abroad (Montana!) so we don't have to fight it here" The right-wing blamed Clinton for 9/11 because he didn't get Bin Laden after the Cole attack. By all rights, Blair can blame Bush for their attack since he didn't get Bin Laden either.

I heard on MSNBC last night that the attack on London has weakened Bush because of this "fight abroad" claim. Also it has caused people to question (those who haven't already) the wisdom of going to Iraq instead of going after Bin Laden.

Bushes other mainstay "The world is a safer place without Saddam." is not going to hold up much longer.

10. We are no safer, we are less safe
Bush has created a Disneyland for terrorists in Iraq. He has spent our funds on his massive blunder and has not spent the time, energy and money necessary to protect us at home - borders, infrastructure, port security, you name it. He has tied up the National Guards so that other hazards such as wildfiires, hurricanes, etc. will be undermanned.

11. London
You would think the attacks on London would shut him up, but obviously we know it won't.
