I was switching channels and this caught my ear 'cause ordinarily I'd rather sear my eyeballs with a light saber rather than watch Faux.
Two old neocon buzzards (don't know names, don't give a crap) were discussing the political fallout of the London bombings. After the obligatory (and obviously half-hearted) "this plays to Bush's strengths 'cause he's such a strong leader and not at all a cuckoobananapants" they went on to discuss impact on Blair.
Bottom line: the two old buzzards didn't even try for a rosy spin. Said that the bombings are a really, really bad thing for Blair. Since most of the good folks in Great Britain were adamantly against the Iraq War, no "rally around the prime minister" effect for him. And since his power base was dramatically reduced after the elections, even a possible worse case scenario of no-confidence vote & big fat boot in arse. Then, the new Prime Minister will "pull a Spain" and get out of Iraq.
My feeling is that if there's any kind of backlash for Blair as a result of this tragedy, it ain't gonna fly for Bush to use it to bolster his "I'ma terrorist fightin', wartime presidennen, flagwavin' hero" routine. And it was quite obvious that the two neocon buzzards on Faux's Beltway Boys knew this too.

On edit: correct "Capital Gang" attribution to "Beltway Boys" -- shows how familiar I am with Faux News shows...
