What Happened?

I know hindsight is 20/20, but the more I think about Russ Feingold running in 2008 and the more I read about his record I ask why did the Democrats not push him to run in 2004. I think Feingold could have beaten Bush if he had run. I even think he could have done well enough with the vote that even if there was election fraud he would have won. In addition, I sometimes think that Gore should have chosen Feingold as his running mate in 2000. I think Feingold would have given Gore a corruption proof margin in 2000. So why did Feingold get passed over/not run for the Democratic nomination in 2004? Was it marriage problems? Did some DLC members step in his way and stop him? Other reason(s)?

3. I don't think he wanted it in '04, plus he was running against a right

wing fundie nut-job here at home, so I'm glad he stuck around!
