BBC report claims London 7-7 attack group is from Northern Africa
Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 11:15 PM by zulchzulu

Apparently, there is a new movement that uses the Sahara desert and cross through borders quite easily. I heard a report about this on the BBC that was quickly referenced.

""It's very similar to the attacks carried out by North African extremist groups like the one in Madrid," says Evan Kohlmann, author of "Al Qaeda's Jihad in Europe." "As the number of dead rises, it becomes more and more likely that it was carried out by an existing Islamic extremist group" with planning experience and training."

"THE terrorist believed to have organised last year’s Madrid train attacks is emerging as a figure in the hunt for the London bombers. Spanish security sources are said to have warned four months ago that Mustafa Setmariam Nasar, a 47-year-old Syrian, had identified Britain as a likely target."

4. An Irish Mother maybe....
There was a lot of intermingling between terrorist groups in the late 60's and early 70's...

The japanese, the Irish the Germans all trained in Libya....

5. Ah, I was hoping it was a leftover gene from Bible times.
Celtic mercenaries were all over that area. And I'm sure they were occasionally lonely.

6. That would be possible....
But there are was a lot of intemingling of the terrorist groups....

The Patriot Games movie based on Tom Clancy's book was pretty acurate in it's depiction of the terrorist training camps in the North African Deserts....

I knew about this from classes I took when gettng my Poli Sci Degree in the early 80's....

2. What BBC report?
Got a link to that BBC report?
Linked CSM does not mention the BBC, nor does search of BBC site mention him.

Why do I smell Agitprop?
Plus ... Don't take this the wrong way, TKB is mostly ThinkTanked push-press food.

9. It was a radio report off the BBC's web site
The reporter mentioned it quickly and I decided to figure out what he was talking about...

I'd heard about how the Sahara was now the new AQ training ground since Afghanistan was in the state it is. Of course, this shows that AQ is spreading, not going away like the Chimp lies about.
