Whether Rove committed a crime or not remains to be seen. What he clearly did do is have the Press disclose the identity of a covert CIA operative and the entire intelligence operation that she was a part of.

He did it only because he was piqued at a report made by Joseph Wilson which, correctly as it turns out, challenged the truth of hyped Bush Administration intelligence purporting to justify a U.S. lead attack on Iraq.

The Downing Street Memo has revealed that the false piece of intelligence that Wilson challenged -- that Saddam was trying to buy uranium -- was just one in a number of phony or overly hyped items selectively chosen by the Bush Administration to inflame public opinion and pave the way to what has become a disastrous and expensive war.

It is time that we make an issue of Rove's actions, just as we made an issue of the DSM. We need to start writing again -- editors, pundits, congressmen, senators and demand that Rove be held accountable for this. We need to force this issue and not let a lazy and torpid public media ignore it. We need to tell these people that they ignore it at their peril. We need to channel our anger into civic justice and make them listen and let America know what the Bush Administration has done, and is continuing to do, to our country and its citizens.

Rove must resign. We must demand that he resign.

3. There might even be more to it than that...
if you consider Plame's position and the fact that the CIA itself was arguing against Iraq having WMDs...they made an example out of her, and struck a blow at her "obstructionist" husband at the same time.

Two birds. One rock.
