It took me a while to get on the freeper website - they've been really busy today - HA! I find it particularly telling that even one of those stupid freepers has figured out that saying "Wilson's wife" is in the CIA is the same as stating Plame's name. Looks like a DUer infiltrated them - which is always fun! I love how they believe the "left wing media" should concentrate their resources on looking for Hillary Clinton's college thesis!!:wtf:

Nothing in the Cooper e-mail suggests that Rove used Plame's name or knew she was a covert operative.
Hair-splitting on whether or not he actually used her name seems pretty pointless to me; "Wilson's wife" is clear enough about who was meant.

I think he's on safer ground when it comes to whether or not he knew she was a covert operative. Cooper's version of what Rove said gives no indication that Rove was aware of that.

Don't we wish the media were as diligent in searching for other information, like Hillary's college thesis or Kerry's military records? I guess they can't do everything so they just concentrate on conservative Republicans.

I wouldn't be surprised if this claim about Rove ends up in a deadlock with Cooper saying "he identified Wilson's wife" and Rove saying "no, I did not identify Wilson's wife." In that case, I would certainly believe Rove instead of Cooper. I won't express any opinions about anyone's motives in this case, but you know all about their motives anyway.

It's quite interesting, actually.

Barbara Olson obtained a copy of the thesis, which the college had sealed. Olson obtained it in January 2000 after much hue and cry from conservatives because it contained material about the radical Saul Alinsky.

I will always believe that Olson had someone steal it.

Why indeed didn't Rove come forward when he knew that the matter was being investigated? He knew DAMN well what he had done, yet said nothing.

He let the investigation go forward and the grand jury be empaneled in hopes they wouldn't find him out.
