A conservative throughly explains the WMD issue
In a local LTTE last Saturday, we liberals were chastised for being ignorant and dishonest. We were told that Saddam Hussein was a "weapon" of mass destruction, therefore Iraq had "weapons" of mass destruction, therefore bush did the right thing. So there. Doesn't that letter have a touch of coaching to it? Its as if there exists websites where right wing lunatics can go and be told how to write letters and what to say in them. Say it ain't so.

1. Seems to me
there's been a whole hell of a lot more destruction in Iraq SINCE Hussein was overthrown than in the years prior.

2. So....he was gonna launch *himself* in under 45 minutes?
How much damage could he do? I mean, he has a big head and everything, but JEEZ, all of this for that big old head?

4. I think Bush said otherwise
I am pretty sure that prior to March 2003, Bush said something to the effect that Saddam could stay in power as long as he game up his WMD's - but of course that was a lie too.

... and at the same time pathetic as when a person of inferior thought processes tries to defend the indefensible.

The logical leaps and downright non-sequiturs range from annoying to LOL funny.

As HL Mencken said: "As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. "

8. Yes, actually, there are several websites that coach

these thoughtless cretins about how to frame an issue, write a LTTE and spew hate.

Then, of course, they've got all the Reich-wing media to help them, as well.

9. You're right--that idiot didn't make it up by himself.
Google "Saddam was a WMD" & you'll find lots of Conservabots marching in step.

Of course, some who see the flaw in the argument are also included. That particular talking point has been around long enough...

10. Well, since MoveOn.org regularly sends me....
emails with letters pre-written for me to send to my legislators, maybe us liberals should just stick to pointing out the insanity of BushCo, and steer clear of making a big deal out of their "talking points" because we have them too. After all, how can we get through all the caciphony without them? The difference between ours and theirs is that ours are based on facts, logic and reason.

11. Excellent Point
I don't get talking points via email and I flood the local papers with LTTE based on my knowledge of current events and the law. I often verbally engage conservatives on issues, especially Iraq, and it really isn't fair. Its so sad to witness one who's arguments are so confined by what they are told.
