I love that Freepers think the Plame case will blow over.

Check out all the conservative forums... All the right wingers are in denial about the Plame case. They think that the Plame case will simply blow over like all the other Bush scandals. What the right wingers are not considering is that the Plame case, unlike other Bush scandals, has a legal process attached to it.

I have to say it... I, for one, will savor the hell out watching Freepers lose it when White House officials are indicted... If that indeed does happen.

Restore dignity to the White House my ass.

1. First they came for the communists...
...but I didn't care, because I am not a communist.

Then they came for...

...etc.

Then they came for the reporters, and I cared...

That's what it's all about. This is the most obvious, dangerous, and documented case of blatant retaliation and coercement of reporters and those who dissent. It scares them, and rightly so.

2. I want to see the "restore dignity..." quote thrown up in their face
over and over again; to me that's the most effective attention- grabber we can use. We can do that no matter how this thing plays out.

14. ROFL
they'd choke on it.

Maybe it would be good to remind the senators and ultra religious right house of reps

"Rove is YOUR devil in the blue dress"

4. Thats exactly the weakness this case has
The Legal process is exactly what makes this case weak. If Rove didnt lie to Grand Jury, and didnt name her by name (XXX' wife doesnt count), its over, that it. If Rove isnt indicted this week (as everyone is saying) then they dont have enough to charge him with, thus the whole idea is dead. Every media outlet in the world can scream bloody murder, if he isnt inicted, it doesnt matter. I still think we are in too much of a frenzy over this. Im on the fence on this one until i see someone in handcuffs.

8. Nonsense. The act of identifying a CIA agent as being Joe Wilson's wife...
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 08:13 PM by The Night Owl
The act of identifying a CIA agent as being Joe Wilson's wife was tantamount to identifying Plame by name. Trust me, the law will see it that way.

The argument that Rove will be cleared simply because he didn't use Valarie Plame's name to leak her identity is ludicrous.

10. Wrong. XXX's wife DOES count.
It IDENTIFIES her. My understanding is that the law would consider not just a proper name, but a description of the person as an illegal outing.

Besides - I don't believe for a minute that this is the crux of Fitzgerald's case. I think it goes much deeper:

Perjury
Conspiracy to Defraud the Government
Obstruction of Justice

just to name a few.

5. From Freeperville:
"...I still don't see the big deal. A reporter called Rove. At the end of the call the Wilson thing comes up. Rove gives his two cents on the true sponsor of the trip. Mentioning a CIA agent in and of itself is not a crime. Many criteria must be met."

The old double standard coming into play now...

Personally, I don't see what the big deal was about BJs in the WH, either. Weren't these the same guys who were all saying it was Clinton lying about it that mattered?

6. CHarges dont matter. He will get a pardon. This is about media lynching.
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 02:46 PM by McCamy Taylor
The press is painting Rove as a the anti-Christ. His name wil be worse than mud when this all over. There is no crime that people will not believe that he is capable of committing---which means that there is no crime they will think the WH is not capable of committing. So much for honor in the WH.

NOte that the press waited TWO WHOLE DAYS after the London bombing before resurrecting the PLame-Rove-Miller story. They are not gonna let this one go.

I would like to see the WH appoint one, much less two Supreme Court Justices with all this shit going down. Rove was the one who was supposed to keep the Religious Right happy and in its place. How is he supposed to do his thing with the press all over him.

It is TOO FUNNY!

7. It's rather amusing how the RW talking heads don't see this as a
"big deal" and yet, somehow Clinton's affair required the expenditure of millions of dollars in tax payer money to prosecute?

9. It's not just freepers, some Democrats do too. They control
everything. I feel bad for the young people in this country. I also feel bad for us older people too. We won't get the chance to see the country turn against these assholes and send them all packing. It will happen but how long?

12. Unless "Star" Democrats pound it home on TV every night, they are right.
If the story dies like DSM & Gannon, I'll blame silent DEMs with media access, not Rove & his Republican owned media.
