I just finished reading George "Wee-man" Stephanopolis's book today (yes its a little late) but I found something extremely interesting about his account of the 1994 elections and the aftermath. It had to do with his use of certain words that where used a lot at that time. Words like "flip-flop" and "moral compass". Why are we allowing history to repeat itself? The tactics that the republicans are using on us right now, right as I type this, are the exact same ones they used almost ten years ago. If you ever listen to Rush or Hannity (you know for shits and giggles) I'm sure you have heard comments like this a thousand times. We need to figure out how to counter these blanket statements better. Really, it is all they have and its been working for ten years! What the hell are we doing here? If we take this tried and true rhetoric away from them it will, IMHO, severely cripple their attack on liberals and stall them until they can come up with something new (and considering that they are still using something ten years old it might take a while). Thoughts?
