If Bush could run again in '08, would he win?

I guess what I'm really wondering is...is this country officially so far gone to the Right that this is the type of madman it wants leading it? If Bush could legally run for a third term in 2008, would the United States of Stupidity elect him again? It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

As I look around me each day, this country seems more and more like a Republican country by a broad margin. Even lower class working people, the ones who have the most to gain by voting for a Democrat, seem to cast all that aside in favor of Bush's rah-rah cowboy act. My gut feeling is that there are way more Republicans than Democrats, and that each and every one of them would vote for this same man-child again if they had the chance, regardless of him being the worst and most divisive president in history. I hope I'm wrong.

...I think the U.S. would vote for shrub again. That's why we need to do everything we can to discredit his party's politics to get a REAL president back in the office.

However, I think there's about the same amount of 'pubs as dems... The near 50% vote the past 2 elections would indicate that to me. I think shrub has been working off the fears of terrorism to get the small portion of dems to vote for him time and again. The repukes however are almost always unwaivering in their "vote now, ask no questions later" routine.... Makes me ill.

Whatever Democrat runs in 08 will win the election.

Kerry won the 04 election by a considerable margin.

Cleland won the election in GA in 02.

All of that makes no difference. The machines will give a different result.

Just don't jump to the conclusion that the Repubs actually have more votes just because the voting machines work as they're programmed or patched or hacked or twisted to work.

Voting machines aside, there are way too many people who I see that would vote for this madman again in a heartbeat. Personally, the feeling I get is that this country is a Rightist country now, voting machines or not. You don't have to look too far to see it.

Even with perfect voting machines, I still have my doubts.

I think, pretty much, he'd be guaranteed a win.

The 2006 elections will tell us a lot. If the Democrats can win back either the House or the Senate, they may only be willing to dare fraud on a massive scale to benefit Bush, and his crowd's WH power. But, if we see grand-scale fraud in 2006, we'll know they are willing to risk everything to hold onto all the brances of government for any Republican.

If that is so, I think we're officially in a one-party system until we can take the Diebold strangle-hold off our election system.
