Anyone else seen this? Amend for Arnold.....
If this was posted before, sorry. But, OMG, Ahnold for president? I can't stomach that jerk.

http://www.amendforarnold.com/

Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution:
"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

We think it's time for a change.

1. He's not even going to get re-elected here in CA let alone get a Pres. nod
He is the laughing stock of the Left coast and it is well deserved.

12. Arnold will absolutey win or steal California. Whatever it takes!!!!
Keep the democrats over-confident, and the Democrats will get complacent and do nothing, letting the polls speak for them and thinking they have it in the bag.

By letting the Democrats believe they can win with the boring, no chance to win candidates they are offering right now, Phil Angelides and Steve Westly, instead of some Democrat who is more exciting charismatic and magnetic...BEWARE!

It seems to me the republicans are right on schedule to bring in their huge money machine to close in and distort, smear, and steal the election with the republican owned and operated electronic voting machines.

As we watch the Democrats scream with happiness with misleading poll numbers.

There is a lot of work to be done, to try and stop the republican money machine that will absolutely overwhelm the state a year from now... AND with the media's help!!!

The republicans are not under ANY circumstance going to let Arnold lose California, the republicans just stole the CA Secretary of States office a few month's ago and Sec. of State who counts the votes (Remember Harris-FL, Blackwell-OH) and the new republican Sec. of State is now bringing in electronic voting machines all over the state of California.

Rove & The republicans are going to lie, cheat, smear, distort, using all their usual tactics to go along with a train-load of money, all the money that musclehead wants and needs so to keep California in the republicans hands...and the future (Arnold) of the republican party.

The media will have their republican owned corporate mainstream media doing all they can to keep Arnold's star rising & glowing, Schwarzenegger is their darling, he sells newspapers and boost ratings...The Dems need someone like that.

Absolutely the only way the Democrats have a chance to get back the governor's seat and keep the State out of the ultra right-wing religious fascist hands (who are drooling at the thought) IS to have someone with equal star status run on the Democrat side...

Unfortunately, it truly has come to this, in order to get so many voters with their heads up their ass, to pay attention!!!
A year to go...Republican money machine, media, smear distort and two very boring democratic candidates.

Millions with no loyalty or party ideology will always vote for flash & Hollywood in the end and you can be sure (Rove and the CA republicans have huge plans for Arnold and flash)...

As these boring Dem candidates fight it out and they point the Dems as no new ideas, and flip-flopper's as sparkling Arnold move in with all the lies needed to win...Flash, will always win with most television watching voters...

I seen it happen so many time before and it will happen many times again.

Don't be over-confident with some silly polls a full year away from the election!

I can not see any Democrat coming up against Arnold & the republican money machine that's going to beat him...

The ONLY way Democrats have a chance, is to have a democrat candidate of the same celebrity status as Schwarzenegger to run for Governor, with lots & lots of money and a Hollywood media machine behind them.

These same idiots in the California Democratic Party think they can win with an ordinary democrat politician running with a bunch of money…NO way will Rove and the republicans let Arnold lose, they will steal it before that would happen…Arnolds destiny is win California again and become President in 2012…that’s why the republicans will spend and lie and do whatever it takes to make sure Arnold will be elected again.

And these foolish Democrats running right now will get their 48 or 49 % and lose, and these same idiots like Art Torres will be saying well, we’ll get them next time. TOO LATE!!!

If the Democrats don’t run someone to match Arnold’s celebrity status, he can NOT be beat. Fuck the pollsters, or Union support or any other bullshit facts you may have…When the republican machine get rolling the Democrats will be crushed, unless he has that great Hollywood drawn and media behind him…The republican won’t be able to point the finger and say what does a celebrity know about politics…because of course they are running a celebrity.

Republicans are bankrupt of ideas that can help the 98% who don't benefit from their economic agenda. As a result, they have to resort to box office appeal.....actors, football players, etc.

Why else run Schwarzenator? What has he ever done by way of public service?

When Republicans resort to this type of candidate, we need to neutralize that advantage by running a Democrat with a similar celebrity appeal.

Don’t make a stupid mistakes and then say, we should of ran with Beatty or whom ever…

Democrats need to be smart for a change and take a page from the republicans…because star power works…AS Michael Moore and others say, there’s no chance of the Democrats winning in California unless they run their celebrity too.

Look at the too boring losers the democrats are running right now Westly & Angelides, nice guys, but when it’s over neither will win…

13. As someone who lives in California...
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 01:15 PM by impeachdubya
I beg to differ- I think running another "celebrity" would be a brain-dead move.

The ONLY people that Arnold beat in the last polls were fellow "celebrities". You forget that "Hollywood action star" and "Hollywood liberal" are not the same thing. While I like Rob Reiner and Warren Beatty, I think running either of them would be a colossal mistake.

Arnold is a fluke, and he was shoehorned in there not just on his "celebrity" but also on the heels of a completely manufactured energy crisis courtesy of his pal Ken Lay and Bush's Enron buddies. When we have our next legitimate gubernatorial election; and not the porn-star-and-gary-coleman circus that was the recall, believe me, many of us Californians will be reminding our fellow citizens that the energy crisis was a complete sham, the people responsible have not been held accountable, and by the way Ahh-nold has never explained what he talked about with Ken Lay at their secret meeting right in the middle of the energy "crisis".

Also, Arnold ran not as a Republican, but as someone "outside the system" who would only have California's interests at heart. Then he ran off to Ohio to stump for Bush right before the 2004 election. People here are seeing through the smoke screen. Like Jesse Ventura, the concept might have had more appeal than the actuality.

The Diebolding of California is a problem, and I agree with you, the take-down of Kevin Shelley smelled like shit. But people here are aware of that, and if the machines are rigged it's not going to matter WHO we run.

Arnold has taken the shine and luster off "celebrity" governance. Part of Arnold's problem right now IS his celebrity status, and how it translates into governmental incompetence. I strongly disagree with you- the BEST thing we as California's Democrats (who are not "idiots", by the way- unlike the Democratic party in the United States at large, at least WE are still the majority party, thank you very much!) can do is run a competent, intelligent, capable person like Westly or Angelides. Period.

17. I agree. Running another 'celebrity' to counter
Arnold somehow legitimizes it as the only kind of person who could/should run. Luckily, Arnold showed many who voted for him that there is no such thing as an 'outsider'.

3. Do it
It paves the way for Jen Granholm. Not sure how she’s been doing lately as Gov of Michigan, but I was highly impressed with her last year during the DNC. Two of my favorite women at the DNC last year were Granholm and Cristy (??)) Visalek, Gov of Iowa’s wife.

4. A futuristic Stallone movie used this as a joke
Demolition Man, I think. Dumb movie with a few clever spots, including "President Schwarzenegger."

Somehow it's ridiculous to make an amendment to the sacrosanct Constitution to recognize women's equal rights, but the Reich Wing is happy to amend for a flag or for Ahnold. FUnny how it works out.

6. I think it's a great idea
I think the republicans should put up arnold on 2008.

His beliefs and actions on abortion, weed, and interracial gang-bangs would earn him a lot of support in the Bible belt, and his long-standing rivalry with teachers, nurses, cops, and firefighters might earn him major political energy even in traditional democratic "safe" states in the northeast and midwest.

I'm all for it!

Arnold in 08!

7. Dems should demand a concession--that the amendment also
allow for Bill Clinton to serve additional terms.

I think we should put Al Gore up for another term in office before we talk about amending the constitution.

18. My point is that Dems should negotiate--if Rethugs want an amendment
just for Arnold, the Dems should counter with an amendment just for Clinton, who would likely beat him. That should stop the amendment process quickly.

there was a time near the beginning of the year when they were advertising, but I don't think anyone would support this much these days.

Arnold - not so hot.

11. What's his approval rating these days? 38%?
Arnold supporters in California are quickly discovering that a hero in the movies is not necessarily a hero in the state house.

this was being promoted but now zippo. I think they were just doing that to thank Arnold for helping Bush. It'll never happen. They're doing him like they do everybody else. Use them and dump them. Arnold dreams about it but it won't happen. Check out http://www.arnoldexposed.com

16. it's been around for awhile now, no worries
Arnold will surely regret this special election he's called for and once he goes down in flames he will not run again and his defeat will show that he is incapable of running this country. IMO and amendment that would open the door for Henry Kissinger to run for president is a very bad idea. I understand Kissinger wouldn't be running but i think you know where I'm going on this.
