1. Lautenberg and Corzine on top. Boxer third.
That's an interesting change of circumstances.

7. It's because the Democrats folded that Bush got all those extremists in.
The Democrats are also the reason we have the bankruptcy bill, the Real ID Act, ect. If just 41 had stuck together, Bush would be empty handed.

4. I wonder why only a few Republicans
Voted the way you wanted them to on the 7/1 HR.

Of course, I'm not clear exactly on why Senators were voting on a HR.

But it makes me wonder what that vote was about if only a few Repubs voted the way you wanted them too, and no Dems at all. What ELSE was in that bill.

Looking it up at Thomas.gov, I find this link on June 30, nothing yet on July 1st.

http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getpage.cgi?dbname=2005_record&page=S7766&position=all

It starts on this page and continues. Seems pretty easy to navigate if folks want to have a look.

Always best to get one's own information, rather than letting it be filtered through the point of view of someone else.

Which is why I like www.vote-smart.org. All the votes, so that a person can make up their own minds about what they think, rather than letting someone make it "easy" for them.

If I wanted easy, I'd just listen to Mr. One Syllable.

8. I guess most Democrats and Republicans hate California and love nukes.
That was the second worst bill to go through Congress. Everyone who voted for HR2419 should resign.

Someone asked about the HR. The S or the HR designates in which House the bill originated. Each bill must pass both Houses. It's in the Constitution.

11. So Boxer hates CA???
All senators who voted for the Feinsteing Amendment voted for the appropriation bill.

And McCain, Sununu, and Coburn, who are rated as progressive on this bill, all voted AGAINST the Feinstein Amendment.

10. Those republicans who voted against the bill wanted less money
spent on these issues.

In the last few bills, there is a total disconnect between the reasons people voted against a bill and the grades that Patrickhenry.com is giving. The significant vote IS the Feinstein Amendment which the 3 Republicans voting against the full bill voted also against. So this rating is totally against his own goal. (I understand the rational of rating the full bill, but in this case, they should not have used the bill).

9. Interesting that almost all GOP senators have nearly identical scores...
35 have scores between -260 and -270. And the senators who aren't a perfect -270 were mostly AWOL for a vote or two.

Lock. Step.
