Why have we not been hit ???
A caller to C-Span this morning had an interesting point of view. He said (paraphrasing) that:

"The US will never be hit because B** made a deal with the terrorists after 9/11. The deal was that:

1. The US would not capture Osama (to please the BFEE Saudi buddies)

2. The US would not mess with the poppy production money flow in Afghanistan.

In exchange, they would leave the US alone.

Anyone who had spent time in a major city since 9/11 has to admit that they see many, many opportunities where it would be extremely easy to pull off an attack. So why not? They could have easily disrupted our economy and way of life by pulling off something small every week.

Adding to this mystery, is - How did the US immediately know we were not in danger after the London bombings when 29 million US citizens were on mass transit here without warnings? Was it because they knew we wouldn't be hit?

Or, are they just patiently waiting and planning for a giant attack to top 9/11??

1. Why did we go 7 1/2 years without an attack
during the Clinton years? I don't understand why you think it's unusual to go 4 years without an attack. It isn't. It would be more unusual if we WERE hit again so soon.

4. Well, maybe because I have fallen into the trap that B** wants
me in. To be afraid. Or maybe it is because I know that since B** invaded Iraq, the number of attacks and estimated terrorists, worldwide, has grown.

27. More on "Operation Gladio" -- false flag terrorism
Thought some of you might like to read up a little more on "Operation Gladio" -- false flag terrorism-- at http://www.gnn.tv/forum/thread.php?id=6634&page=1

US operatives are now taking out their Al Qaeda operatives who may blow the whistle on higher ups in US Intelligence.

4.) Originally set up as a network of clandestine cells to be activated behind the lines in the event of a Soviet invasion of Western Europe, “Gladio” quickly expanded into a tool for political repression and manipulation, directed by NATO and Washington http://context.themoscowtimes.com/stories/2005/02/18/120.html

5.) “Operation Northwoods” was a US government plan to stage the assassination of civilians and blame it on Communist Cuba. See “Justification for U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba”, National Security_Archive at http://globalresearch.ca/articles/NOR111A.html

3. they want to top 9/11
Next time it will be chemical or bio.

Also, they want to cripple our economy, and other than planes, we don't have much of a mass transit system, except for a few cities.

Could be a food supply, mall, stadium, or multi-plex theater. Something very American, that will have symbolic and economic impact.

They also expect/know we will blow up another chunk of the Middle East aftwards, so they will want to make it "worthwile"

Just my opinion.

5. No attack?
Every time we go into a fear mode over some package or suitcase we get attacked. Bin Laden does not do it, we do it for him. This Administration has gotten a tremendous reduction in civil liberties.

EXACTLY--Bush is doing an excellent enough job of taking away domestic freedoms Bin Laden allegedly hates, angering the rest of world with his arrogance and incompetence, and inspiring terrorist recruits. So why should Bin Laden knock himself out?

11. What are you saying? That BFEE said it was ok to attack us?
So the deal was, You attack us so we can start a war in Iraq, so that our war machine corporations can make a ton of money and we can control Iraq's oil flow (thus more money). They got Osama to manage the attack but we had to promise them that we would never capture him and that we would never disrupt the opium cash cow?

16. Ha Ha! Guess I sound naive. I believe that when someone
lies big time, in politics or elsewhere in life, they can never be trusted again.

To think that if someone could completely disregard human life and orchestrate a phony war and completely manipulate the country's election process, there is NOTHING they wouldn't do.

But I am still not at a point where the insanity of it all doesn't make me pause and say "WOW."

12. really scared
There were various things that "foreshadowed" 9/11 e.g. the X-Files spinoff, and now there are things foreshadowing a much larger strike and General Tommy Franks talking about martial law.

google for "Tommy Franks martial law".

Most of it is right-wing conspiracy theory bullcrap, but the quote from Cigar Aficionado is repeated across enough places to be considered real.

18. I think these big attacks take time.
I think they take time to plan, acquire the explosives without detection, etc. I think it is only a matter of time.

On the other hand, if Bush made a deal, then where's the justice for 9-11?

dealing with IG audits of govt agencies with relation to security. You would not believe the recommendations made immediately after 9/11. Never funded. A lot of hard work done by agencies to determine where they were weak and what it would take to fix. Nothing done. No money. very odd

20. Good question.
Had a discusion with someone in the business of govt emergency response. She indicated that there are dozens of ways just a few people could easily wreak havoc, if they wanted.

I don't want to post them, but all are easy and most would need only a person or two to cause massive economic or human casualties. Most are low tech and non-suicidal.

When asked why these things haven't happened, especially since security at most chemical plants, oil refineries, ports, etc is not high, the response was that Al Queda has a penchant for explosives and are not low tech. Not a convincing argument IMO.

If this is truly a war, you would expect much more terrorism all over the world than we are seeing, using any means necessary by a desperate underdog. We aren't seeing that....something doesn't add up.

We've read recently by some that Al Queda doesn't really exist as portrayed in the media. Perhaps there just isn't the organization of size and sophistication that we are told exists. Perhaps in Iraq there really are just insurgents defending their country.

22. Maybe it's PR....
If Osama attacked the US right now, Bush and America might gain sympathy votes overseas.

Instead, he attacks us overseas where WE are the invaders. He attacks our allies for being our allies.

Meanwhile, he lets Bush destroy himself.

Maybe they are waiting until an attack on America won't generate support for America.

I hope the reason is not that sophisticated. I hope that we are safer now. But then I have to face reality.

I think there could be a lot of merit to the "Bush attacks America everyday, OBL doesn't have to."
