These were supposed to be the glory days of the American conservative movement, but all it ended up being for them is the opportunity to serve as apologists for some of the biggest dirtbags to ever assume power in this country.

1. They all thought that something good would come after all the lies

Lie to get the tax cut, lie to get the antiabortion supreme court, lie to remove environmental regulation, lie to get in office.....

Then once all the lies are made, the conservative heaven on earth would appear.

They didn't realize that the Bushites could lie to them as easily as they could lie to the majority, and that the BUSH goal was power and holding it.

2. Apologias are just another form of marketing to them

They believe it's better to sound contrite and make a profit rather than actually perform contrition and lose money.

So I doubt they have much problem with the current situation, as long as it doesn't change the status quo in the end.
