What if they gave a White House briefing and nobody came?

Just a thought. For all the information thats given from Scotty about how he can never say anything about what our government is doing, why go? The press corp should have all walked out the other day.

1. I've wondered the same thing. Considering how badly they treat the
reporters like Helen Thomas, why does anyone show up? The current regime needs the reporters, as much or more than the reporters need the press briefings.

4. Exactly. It would really show the worth of the whole event. Nothin but
Fox news and Gannon.

5. I've wondered, too, for a long time
I'm confident that the press can make up enough stories to print without the White House feeding them "official" lies (we saw them do it plenty of times about Al Gore and John Kerry during the last two presidential campaigns). So why, why, why do they depend so much on the administration, when a lot of them MUST know they are being fed disinformation or no information? Wouldn't you just love to see the Boosh administration get the same press treatment that Al Gore and John Kerry got? And I would bet my last dollar that all the crap they printed about Gore and Kerry DID NOT come from the Gore and Kerry campaigns. Why do they make up stuff about Democrats, and then pretend that the only thing they can print about repigs HAS to come directly from the REPIGS?

(forgive the rant!)

2. That Would Be Fine With Them: They'd Pack The Room With Jeff Gannon Clones

Actually, I expect that the briefings will devolve into that fairly soon.

3. so little comes out of them...
that that BECOMES the story. Thats why they go and will keep going. The press corps and the American People can tell when they start to obfuscate. I sure can tell.
Does the pentagon even do noontime briefings anymore? I watched them quite often when the war first got going(DOWNHILL!)and was amazed at how good they were at saying nothing at all with great flair.
