Although he is an unmitigated disaster as Gov, I'm not real sure I want him back in the movies either.

but at his age he might be washed up depending on what type of movies are available for him. Movies might now be more physically challenging for him compare to being governor. And too much exposure will show him to be more one dimensional as to the type of roles he can play. How many times can he keep repeating his trademark statements?

After Hubby and I got married in 2001 and I moved to Pennsy, everybody was up in arms because the legislature gave themselves a 50% pay raise (which, I had to agree was just outrageous).

They gave themselves a hefty pay increase every year I was there. I can understand the outrage, but Ed Rendell isn't alone here (and, his first year as Governor, he worked gratis - didn't collect a salary).

She better get those numbers up soon, or I fear there might be a huge backlash in the '06 Senate elections. Governor approvals have influence on the rest of the lesser elected officials of a state. We need to keep that seat.

I still think the Dems would be much better to run a popular Governor than to mess around with Senators. The last Senator elected directly from the Senate was JFK! What's THAT tell you?

I've heard rumblings about MArk Warner, but it sure looks like the Bov of Wyoming would be great too, and we're talking aobut critical votes from RED states too!

22. Rendell

Rendell's approval rating has gone down for a number of reasons.

1. Late budget, and state legislators just gave themselves a huge raise (about 11,000 yr) while trying to cut Medicaid benefits. Rendell signed. Medicaid cuts were restored, but the pay raise without a fight went over poorly, espeically since state workers pay was frozen.

2. Rendell alientated some voters when he failed to visit Cambelltown after a devastating tornado a year ago.

3. Rendell has pushed heavily for slots to reduce property taxes in the state, but many school districtshave not signed on to his plan. He got the slots, but it has been a slow process.

4. The turnpike tolls went up during his admin, and there is talk of creating tolls on interstate 80

There are many others, but the perception is Rendell is a Philadelphia ex-Mayor who passes on pork to Philly at the sacrifice of the rest of the state. I imagine if you took a Philly poll he'd score huge, but not so well in the rest of the state.

I've been disapointed in Rendell. Dont' think he will be a big player in the Dem future.
